Learn about Harvard Undergraduate Moot Court
Our Mission
Harvard Undergraduate Moot Court (HUMC) educates undergraduate students about legal policy through the simulated legal argumentation provided by the American Moot Court Association (AMCA). Our goal is to allow students interested in pursuing a passion for the law to do so as undergraduates, rather than having to wait until they are eligible to enter law school.
What is Moot Court?
Moot Court is an activity that promotes the development of legal knowledge, public speaking, critical thinking, and argumentation skills. At the undergraduate level, Moot Court is primarily run by the American Moot Court Association (AMCA)
Through AMCA's program, students work closely with a case provided by the association. Each participant has the opportunity to either argue in front of a panel of judges or write a legal brief that contains their ideas. This hands-on experience allows students to develop their argumentation skills and gain knowledge about the inner workings of our legal system.
Our History
Founded with the vision of bringing competitive moot court to Harvard's undergraduate community, HUMC has grown into an influential organization that has participated in multiple invitationals and plans to register for the AMCA.
